The unforgettable week is over, thanks for everyone!

This week has been a magnificent experience for the players, their assistants and for all the people that have worked for the tournament: the officials, volunteers, referees, classifiers and everyone that has been helping. Also the audience has been able to take part in something very unique; for many people this has been the first contact to this kind of sport. “This is amazing, can I take part in the next tournament, too?” asked a little boy from Nastola. He wanted to take with him a poster from the competition hall and he said he will never take it off his wall. Hopefully many other people also have felt this kind of enthusiasm during the week.

Slow wheelchairs let Slovenians down in their debut tournament

Championship debutant Slovenia had to settle for last place and five losses in Electric Wheelchair Hockey European Championships in Nastola. National coach Damir Bakonić was quite disappointed because Slovenians had some high expectations before the tournament.

Day 7: Netherlands or Belgium is the European Champion 2012!

Netherlands and Belgium are the best teams in this tournament and faces each others in the final match of European Championships 2012! In the semifinals Netherlands won Finland 5-3 and Belgium made a surprise and won Germany 9-5. Final match starts on Sunday at 17.00 local time. Finland and Germany plays for the bronze medal on Sunday, starting at 14.30.

lkka Siiki and seven other referees try to keep up the fair play

Eight referees from eight countries make sure that playing stays fair in Electric Wheelchair Hockey European Championships in Nastola. Each of the participating countries have named one referee to EC 2012 and the principle was that the chosen referee must be from the highest possible level.

Björn Sarrazijn – the best in the world?

Because the top of the Europe is the same as the top of the world in Electric Wheelchair Hockey, it is safe to say that the best EWH player of the world is playing in European Championships in Nastola. One can argue all day long who is that player, but you can't go too wrong if you place your bet on Belgium number 24, Björn Sarrazijn.
